Farol is an audio walking, cycling and driving guide. It narrates the places around you as you travel. This policy explains what it collects, why, and the choices you have. Farol is operated by George Dunnett (farolguide@icloud.com).

To generate commentary, the text describing a place (and your question, if you ask one) is sent to Anthropic (the Claude API). To turn text into a voice, it is sent to Microsoft Azure and/or ElevenLabs. These providers process the text to return commentary or audio and do not use it to train their models under our API agreements. We do not send them your email or account identity.
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, saved tours and all commentary history from our servers and cannot be undone. You can also sign out at any time to stop new data being collected.
We keep your data while your account exists, so the guide can remember what it has already told you and sync your settings. When you delete your account, the associated data is deleted. Anonymous, place-level commentary that is not tied to any account may be retained to improve the guide.
Farol is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy as the app develops. Material changes will be noted here with a new “last updated” date.
